FLEXtra® PROFIBUS Repeater

The FLEXtra® multiRepeater is a multi-PROFIBUS repeater designed for DIN rail mounting. It regenerates the incoming electrical signal on a bus line and retransmits it (bit reshaping and retransmission).

The signals are restored in terms of level, slope, and duty cycle. The multiRepeater supports data rates from 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps and automatically recognizes them. It can be used for bus extension, increasing the number of participants, and expanding the system. It is also suitable for use in MPI networks.

As a special application option, the PROFIBUS multiRepeater allows the configuration of a star network with independent segments. Integrated status LEDs for each segment provide a quick overview of the current bus status. Additionally, the FLEXtra® multiRepeater provides electrical isolation between PROFIBUS segments. It includes a DIP switch to turn off individual segments and a switch to turn off all segments simultaneously. The segments remain separated but continue to function autonomously.

PROFIBUS connectors are required for connection to the PROFIBUS cable.

• FLEXtra® multiRepeater, PROFIBUS Repeater 4 ports
