Helmholz WALL IE Bridge/Firewall

Secure Communication and Simple Addressing: Helmholz's WALL IE devices are industrial firewalls designed to protect the automation network from unauthorized access. Thanks to individual configuration, the firewall can be easily tailored to the requirements of the respective machine network.

In NAT operating mode, WALL IE forwards data traffic between different IPv4 networks. It allows address translation via NAT and uses packet filters to restrict access to the underlying automation network.

In bridge operating mode, WALL IE acts as a layer 2 switch. Unlike regular switches, WALL IE can forward data traffic between different IPv4 networks. Additionally, packet filtering is possible in this operating mode. This means access to specific areas of the network can be limited without the need for separate networks for this purpose.
